Koscom and irregular employee union reach an agreement dramatically to reborn as a social firm
Koscom has agreed to hire irregular employees directly on December 29th.
Koscom, Korean Confederation of Trade Union and Kosocm irregular employee union assembled in Koscom's conference room to sign the agreement and agreed to perform good-faith action.
Koscom and irregular employee union each promised to hire 65 union member directly and agreed to close the strike that they both dropped the lawsuit.
This strike begun since May of 2007 and this incident has been the representative case for irregular employee strike. The solution of confliction between management and labor of union seem far distance. During this process, the CEO was dismissed not fulfilling the term, and three CEO passed through in past one year that Koscom experienced many complications.
The Koscom CEO returned thanks to the National Assembly, Koscom regular employee labor union, the staffs and boards, the public federation of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions, financial federation of the Korean Confederation of Trade Union and the irregular employee labor union. The CEO also mentioned the relationship between labor and capital shouldn't be a fight and confrontation but companion and partner, and the relationship should be enacted from the constitutionalism.
In addition, the Koscom CEO said that the Koscom will grow as a global IT service firm by cooperation and composition based on broad point of view of Koscom's staffs and boards.
In meantime, the Koscom regular employee union passed the bill on hiring the irregular employees directly by 75% on December 18, 2008 at the general meeting of union member.
